Stevie Wonder Blind Piano Cat

The Blind Piano Playing Cat

Stevie Wonder, is a six year old blind cat that was found in a garden flea-ridden, suffering from worms, with a hernia in his stomach and both of his eyes missing.

Vets are unsure whether his eyes were surgically removed or he was born without them.
Stevie was taken home by Beva Street; one of the staff of the Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire.
At first, Ms Street noticed that he appeared to like listening to the piano being played.
Then one day he astounded her by pressing the keys and playing the piano himself!

Beva Street, deputy manager of cat welfare at the shelter, believes the blind wonder cat feels comforted by being able to hear the sound made by its movements and that the sounds connect him to the outside world.
Now the piano playing kitty spends most of his time enchanted by the gentle piano sounds at his temporary owner’s home.

Ms Street said: ‘You wouldn’t think Stevie couldn’t see. He is so playful he is like a little kitten.
Stevie seems to enjoy the sound of the piano and often jumps up on my lap while I play.
He has ventured onto the seat and the piano himself a few times for a little nose and a rather noisy play.
Because he has no sight Stevie’s other senses are so heightened – his hearing is amazing.
He loves to jump, play with fishing rod toys and explore his foster home and garden. He really is a wonder.
Amazingly in terms of himself Stevie is well, which is why it is so surprising that he does not have eyes.’

She also said she hoped Stevie would find a stable home soon where the furniture remains in one place so he can create a mental map in his head of the space around him.

Wood Green, which was founded in 1924, rehomes thousands of dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, hens, ferrets and other small animals every year.

Abandoned Kittens find Loving Homes

21 Kittens in a Box

Some of the Rescued Kittens
Two of the Rescued Kittens

On Thursday morning, a resident in Syracuse’s Tipperary Hill area discovered a box containing more than 21 kittens while she was taking a walk.

The woman brought the box of surprises to Fairmount Animal Hospital, where they received the care that they need.

The kittens were surprisingly in good shape with just a few fleas. They are believed to be about two to three weeks old and probably born to three separate mothers.

On Friday, only a day later, each of the kittens has a clean bill of health and most have already been adopted.

The Fairmount Animal Hospital says they are surprised at the incredible

Molly – Little Kitty Rescued from the Snow

Molly the Rescued Snow Kitty!

Molly the rescued Kitty!
Molly the Rescued Kitty!

A true Kitty Rescue Story told by one of our readers and fellow cat lovers, Dalilia from Toronto.

Read it here:

This Story happened in the year of 2007, December, when my uncle was driving to my 15 birthday party.

You see, I never had any pets and I never really hoped to get any because my father never wanted to have any pets because he fears them, but on that day, I somehow had a premonition that something extrodinary was going to happen; and it did!

We were sitting at home waiting for him to come when all of a sudden the doorbell rang and there he was!

Mom ran to open the door and all of a sudden, she gave out a little cry and rushed back in clutching her hands together and crying out almost hysterically: “He’s got a cat with him! A half frozen up little creature! Oh come quick! It’s almost dead!”

I rushed up to him and found in his arms a stiffly frozen, little white

Touching Pet Owners Story of Dead Cat

Read Peg’s Touching Story of her Dead Cat

I have found that many cat and dog owners have at least once in their lives suffered a loss of a wonderful friend (i.e. cat), a life long companion.
Such an occurrence is very sad. The sufferings and pain from a death of a cat or dog is sometimes a very difficult thing to cope with. Some people cry and grieve for years over a lost cat or dog, and some people forget sooner about their dead pet….

Here is a lovely little story about peg’s dead cat.

This is how it all began:

“Willy, my cat, came into my life at about 10 weeks old, following the death of my husband in 1997.

Willy was a special cat who knew all of my moods and was there for me every moment of every day.
He had always had what we thought to be a “hairball cough” that I treated with hairball remedy.

Last October the cough grew more persistent and I took him to my vet who thought he had feline asthma. He was treated with prednisone, but did not get better. In January the vet did a complete blood workup, which did not show any problems, so the prednisone was continued. Then on Feb. 17 I noticed he was having labored breathing so I watched him very closely for the next 2 days. On Feb. 19 (his 10th birthday), he wasn’t any better so I took him back to the vet. He did an x-ray and it showed a large mass taking up space in his lung. It was inoperable, and I had to make the decision to have him euthanized the next day.

I was there with him when the procedure was done and I kept my hand on his head until it was over. I have cried every day since then, and will continue to grieve for a time. I had him cremated and brought the ashes home this week. In the spring I will bury his ashes along with his favorite toy, which was a stuffed catnip mouse, in my flower garden. Since I’m a widow, I’ll probably be the only one there, unless my daughter and her family come out. I will put a pet grave marker on top of his grave.

He was my best friend, and he filled that hole in my heart with sunshine and joy every day of his life. He will never be forgotten. I have photos of him all over my house, because he went into every room in my house. He slept on the foot of my bed, and loved to snuggle in my lap.”

“I love you dear Willy and always will!”

Lost Cat United with Owner again after 8 Months!

Lost Cat United with his owner after 8 Months!!!

Charles the Lost Cat
Charles the Lost Cat

Charles, a cat from new Mexico ran away some eight months ago while in care of a babysitter.

His owner, Alex has been searching for him for MONTHS but without any result. Then one day, Charles somehow turned up 1,300 miles away in Chicago!

The cat had been  picked up as a stray by Windy City animal control workers.

Luckily, a tracking microchip had been emebedded in Charles’ shoulder blades which enabled workers to track his owner Alex down and prevent them from putting Charles to sleep.

They called Alex up and told him that they had found his cat.

However, Alex was at that time volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans and was terribly upset as there was nothing he could do about getting Charles.

Then the stunned cat lover enjoyed the further good fortune of having an Albuquerque resident – and fellow cat owner – volunteer to pick up Charles while in Chicago for a wedding.

Lucien Sims, who also owns a tabby, got an Albuquerque company to provide a cat carrier and American Airlines waived Charles’ travel fees.

“He needs a good brushing,” said Cherie Travis, executive director of Chicago Animal Care and Control.

“He’s got a little bit of a cold – a little bit of an upper respiratory infection – but otherwise he’s in great condition.”

3 hours later, both can and owner where united in a loving happy end hug!

Alex still cannot believe his good fortune at having his cat back and I am sure that Charles is ever so happy too to be back with his loving owner after all he has been through!

Let’s hope that he doesn’t run away too soon again and enjoyes a happy, long and healthy life!

What a lovely happy-end cat story! Don’t you think so?

Thanks, and have a great day!

Stray Momma Cat Fosters Abandoned Bob Cat Kittens

Momma Cat Saves Bob Cat Kittens!

Momma cat nurses bobcat kittens
Momma cat nurses bobcat kittens

A few weeks ago, a hunter found three small bobcat kittens alone in the woods of Alabama and took them to Big Cat Rescue.

Big Cat Rescue took the kitties in, but felt that they would and could not survive as they where too young and their eyes where still closed.

Luckily something special happened!

A stray cat in the Rescue Center who’s kittens had already started eating solid food found the kittens and adopted them imediately! She cuddled up to them and let them suckle on her nipples. Half an hour later, the kittens where already happily cuddled up with the momma cat aswell as with her own kittens!

They are now healthy, full and happy!

Big Cat Rescue plans to release the bobcats into the wild after 18 months, when they’ll be old enough to hunt and survive on their own.

What a lovely cat story!

What do you think? Comment below. Thank you!

How to Respectfully Bury your Dead Pet – My Mouse Burial Story

How to Bury Your Dead Cat or Dog?

Have you just lost one of your dearest little furry friends? Did one of your beloved pets die?

Was it your life long beloved dog or cat?
Do you still remember him/her just like as if he/she were still there right besides you, rubbing against you, purring or barking?

Are you feeling alone, sad, misreable; as though there  is no one else out there who can understand you or comfort you?

But please don’t feel alone.

I understand your sadness, your devestation, your misery…. I too have had my share of loss.
When I was young, the only pets I had where two little mice in a cage by the window.

Mouse or not mouse, I still loved them dearly and used to play with them, pet them and watch them run around in their cage by the window.

They were not the plain sort of mice, but sandy colored dessert mice which where always active and friendly. These kind of mice, can loose their tails if they get scared, but this we had no idea about till one day mom tried to catch one of the sisters (now called Short tail) and grabbed her by the tail.

You can guess what happened: Mom was left shocked with a bloody stub of a tail.

A terrible incident to have happened.

Still, the mice lived on happily for a few more good years, but then some time after my 10 birthday, short tail got some brain infection and got very ill, she actually turned crazy.

Her ears started bleeding and white puss was coming out of them. She scratched at them and ran around in circles.

We had no idea what to do about her! So we just left her be. Hoping that she would recover somehow or another…. But she didn’t.

And then one day, she became murderous and killed her sister.  Just bit her neck out of the blue and killed her.

We came back and found

Lost Black Cat Sparky Reunited with Family after 1 Year

Black Cat Found after 1 Years Search!

Sparky the cat comes home again!
Sparky the cat comes home again!

Some people think that when a cat runs away, it is gone forever.  Not so with Sparky!

This is an unusual story of a run-away cat who was found 1 year after his escape.

Last year the black cat Sparky scampered to freedom — and the unknown — from his home in Lexington, UK while his owners were visiting friends in Boston.

After Sparky fled, Addie Mathews, 19, posted flyers and scoured the neighborhood for the then 7-month-old kitten.

”There was no sign of him,” she said. ”I was just really hoping that someone had taken him in, because he’s a really friendly cat.”

A few weeks ago, someone discovered an abondond black cat in an empty bank-owned forclosure property. The owner had left it aswell as the cat behind. The cat was brought to the MSPCA in Jamaica Plain.

However, when the MSPCA counselor scanned the black cat, a microchip was found which gave the cats true identity – SPARKY!

That very same day, Sparky was reunited with his suprised owner Addie.

“I thought I’d never see him again!” She said suprised while looking down at the black kitty in her arms.

“You can’t imagine how glad I am to have him back with me again!”

—————————-

Notes:

Why do you think that Sparky ran away to begin with?

Was he unhappy with his owners, or did he just not know better and run out into the world as a curious little kitty and then get lost and end up locked up in the empty house without a way to get back home?

Do you think that it was faire that the person left the kitty alone in the for-closure house? I don’t!

Comment below if you’d like to share your thoughts with us.

Thanks.

Oscar Predicts Death
Oscar Predicts Death

Hi there cat lovers!

Today i found an amazing article about a cat named Oscar who lived in a Hospital and could predict the death of 50 of the hospital patients.

He never liked to cuddle anyone but each time a patient was about to die, Oscar would be found cuddling up to them throughout their last living hours.

But could this just be a coincidence?

Should Cats Get Christmas Gifts too?

Did Santa Bring Something for Kitty too?

I'm waiting,...for my present!!
I'm waiting momy...for my present!!

“While all of us humans are getting fancy gifts, parcels and boxes, kitty feels totally left out on the side.

Hasn’t she been good? Doesn’t she also deserve a Christmas present from Santa? All the colors and things excite kitty and yet no one pays her any attention. She crawls under the christmas tree and paws at a red crystal ball hanging from the tree. It looks so pretty! Suddenly, a human voice shouts at her to “Get out of there! You’re ruining the Christmas tree!!”
Frightened kitty crawls out again and sits on the side again.

She watches as everyone starts to unpack the Christmas presents, tearing their raping off and laughing and smiling as they do so. Kitty sighs and lies down on the floor.

I wantz also a gift from zanta!
I wantz also a gift from santa!

Why nothing for her? Just as she is about to go to sleep, a parcel is placed down infront of her nose.

Kitty opens up her eyes again and looks interestedly at it.

She stretches, yawns and then gets up.

She sniffs at it the box and tries to bites at the thing.

Kitty pulls at a string that is hanging down from it and heyho! the box opens up!
Kitty opens wide eyes at what things she sees inside of it!!

What wonderful treats are lying there, what toys, what cuddly beds!
Happyness fills kitty and she jumps forwards onto the mice and snaps up the treats! Santa DID remember her after all! A few minutes later, mice are flying around the christmas tree, people are smiling and holding up what they got with a pleased grin, and in behind all, on a cozy soft bed, with mice lying all around her and cat treats in her belly, lies the happiest little cat in the world, smiling from ear to ear!”

That was a nice little story wasn’t it? But what about making it into reality this christmas, for YOUR cat? Imagine how she will happy and purr when you give her all those lovely cat toys and cat treats for christmas!

We always get our cats christmas gifts from this cat shop.

It’s my favorite, because all of the treats, foods, toys and beds are made from enviromently friendly materials and are natural, tasty and healthy!

This Cat Loved Life & was Happy to her Very Last Day!

This is a touching cat story about ‘sleer’ a cat that loved life and never cried or was sad, no matter what pain she went through. All she did was purr.

It brought tears to my eyes..

Let’s let her mommy Maria tell the story:

“Sleer is the little girl I brought home from the vet’s office. She was supposed to be the companion to my other cat, but was my best girl. She would look at me and purr. She never left my side (even when you wanted her to). She always seemed to need dental care when we saw the vet, bad breath.

At age 11, she had become
