True Cat Rescue Stories from around the world!

Cat Rescue Story Smoky

Smoky is a brown tabby cat who nearly didn’t make it. We found him crawling along the pavement as a very young kitten. He was heading for a busy road and was suffering from terrible cat flu. His eyes were all glued up, so he couldn’t see a thing and his fur was dirty and matted. He really was in a bad way.

We think that he had come from a nearby graveyard where a group of feral cats had been living. By the state of him he had obviously been abandoned by his mother. We scooped him up and took him to the vets. It really didn’t look good for a long time. He stumbled around a lot as he couldn’t see and he found it difficult to eat.

We had to stay with him constantly for the next few days and spoon-fed him tiny amounts of warm milk. Luckily he did recover, although he has been cross-eyed ever since and we think that his vision has been affected, but generally he is a very lovely cat.

Funnily enough he has never wanted to go outside his whole life even though we have encouraged him. I think he just wants to feel safe and secure after his ordeal as a kitten. Smoky is now 13 years old and has given us many years of fun and companionship and is a very happy cat as you can see from his photo.

Molly – Little Kitty Rescued from the Snow

Molly the Rescued Snow Kitty!

Molly the rescued Kitty!
Molly the Rescued Kitty!

A true Kitty Rescue Story told by one of our readers and fellow cat lovers, Dalilia from Toronto.

Read it here:

This Story happened in the year of 2007, December, when my uncle was driving to my 15 birthday party.

You see, I never had any pets and I never really hoped to get any because my father never wanted to have any pets because he fears them, but on that day, I somehow had a premonition that something extrodinary was going to happen; and it did!

We were sitting at home waiting for him to come when all of a sudden the doorbell rang and there he was!

Mom ran to open the door and all of a sudden, she gave out a little cry and rushed back in clutching her hands together and crying out almost hysterically: “He’s got a cat with him! A half frozen up little creature! Oh come quick! It’s almost dead!”

I rushed up to him and found in his arms a stiffly frozen, little white

Lost Cat United with Owner again after 8 Months!

Lost Cat United with his owner after 8 Months!!!

Charles the Lost Cat
Charles the Lost Cat

Charles, a cat from new Mexico ran away some eight months ago while in care of a babysitter.

His owner, Alex has been searching for him for MONTHS but without any result. Then one day, Charles somehow turned up 1,300 miles away in Chicago!

The cat had been  picked up as a stray by Windy City animal control workers.

Luckily, a tracking microchip had been emebedded in Charles’ shoulder blades which enabled workers to track his owner Alex down and prevent them from putting Charles to sleep.

They called Alex up and told him that they had found his cat.

However, Alex was at that time volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans and was terribly upset as there was nothing he could do about getting Charles.

Then the stunned cat lover enjoyed the further good fortune of having an Albuquerque resident – and fellow cat owner – volunteer to pick up Charles while in Chicago for a wedding.

Lucien Sims, who also owns a tabby, got an Albuquerque company to provide a cat carrier and American Airlines waived Charles’ travel fees.

“He needs a good brushing,” said Cherie Travis, executive director of Chicago Animal Care and Control.

“He’s got a little bit of a cold – a little bit of an upper respiratory infection – but otherwise he’s in great condition.”

3 hours later, both can and owner where united in a loving happy end hug!

Alex still cannot believe his good fortune at having his cat back and I am sure that Charles is ever so happy too to be back with his loving owner after all he has been through!

Let’s hope that he doesn’t run away too soon again and enjoyes a happy, long and healthy life!

What a lovely happy-end cat story! Don’t you think so?

Thanks, and have a great day!

Lost Black Cat Sparky Reunited with Family after 1 Year

Black Cat Found after 1 Years Search!

Sparky the cat comes home again!
Sparky the cat comes home again!

Some people think that when a cat runs away, it is gone forever.  Not so with Sparky!

This is an unusual story of a run-away cat who was found 1 year after his escape.

Last year the black cat Sparky scampered to freedom — and the unknown — from his home in Lexington, UK while his owners were visiting friends in Boston.

After Sparky fled, Addie Mathews, 19, posted flyers and scoured the neighborhood for the then 7-month-old kitten.

”There was no sign of him,” she said. ”I was just really hoping that someone had taken him in, because he’s a really friendly cat.”

A few weeks ago, someone discovered an abondond black cat in an empty bank-owned forclosure property. The owner had left it aswell as the cat behind. The cat was brought to the MSPCA in Jamaica Plain.

However, when the MSPCA counselor scanned the black cat, a microchip was found which gave the cats true identity – SPARKY!

That very same day, Sparky was reunited with his suprised owner Addie.

“I thought I’d never see him again!” She said suprised while looking down at the black kitty in her arms.

“You can’t imagine how glad I am to have him back with me again!”

Notes:

Why do you think that Sparky ran away to begin with?

Was he unhappy with his owners, or did he just not know better and run out into the world as a curious little kitty and then get lost and end up locked up in the empty house without a way to get back home?

Do you think that it was faire that the person left the kitty alone in the for-closure house? I don’t!
