When I was a junior in college, I adopted a cat from the ASPCA, and named him Moe. Little did I know at the time, he was a Maine Coone, and would turn out to be a huge, furry, wild one at that. Moe loved to get himself into all kinds of trouble. One morning, my mother even awoke to Moe swinging by his front paws from the chandelier, and, to this day, I’ve yet to hear the end of it.
More than anything else, Moe wanted to hang out in the refrigerator—I imagine all that fur made him hot—and it was all I could do keep him out of it.
Every time I opened the door, he’d sprint from the other end of the room to get a peek and a paw inside. One night, just before bed, I opened the fridge to get a bottle of water, and, unbeknown to me, as I turned my back, Moe jumped in.
At some point each night, Moe would snuggle onto the foot of my bed and snooze the rest of the night away with me, but when I woke up and couldn’t find him, the search was on.
Finally, I thought to open the fridge, and there was Moe, perched comfortably on the bottom shelf—six hours later.
Funny enough, he barely nudged when I opened the door, but instead stepped out, stretched and went about his business. Either way, I was beside myself. I had locked my cat in the fridge—what else was there to say? All I could do was thank my lucky stars he survived.

Curiosity almost killed a four-month-old kitten when it went for an adventure in a washing machine and ended up in the spin cycle.
The fluffy, white, Persian kitten – aptly named Kimba after the cartoon white lion – climbed into the front loader while Lindsay Rogers was loading the machine at his home in Manly Vale, on Sydney’s north shore.
Not knowing Kimba was inside the machine exploring the dirty clothes, Mr Rogers innocently loaded it and turned the machine on.
“I put the clothes in, put the powder and the fabric softener in, put it on a cold wash – which was very lucky – and put it on for a 30-minute cycle,” Mr Rogers told the Manly Daily newspaper.
“When I opened the door, it just went ‘meow’ and stuck its head out. I couldn’t believe it – the spin cycle at the end goes really fast and I couldn’t believe it survived.”
While the bedraggled – and rather dizzy – Kimba was no doubt a lot cleaner after his adventure, the kitten was actually very ill, with very sore eyes from the washing detergent.
Mr Rogers rushed the kitten – who he described as “looking like a drowned rat” – to the local vet, who immediately put it on an intravenous drip.
The head nurse at the Allambie Veterinary clinic, Natalie Macdonald, said Kimba was “very flat and wet … and not very responsive” when she arrived.
“She was suffering from shock and hypothermia and they put her on a heat mat and dried her until her body temperature slowly returned to normal,” Ms Macdonald said.
Mr Rogers said Kimba returned to normal a couple of hours later.
“It is just amazing that she survived but we reckon she’s used all of her nine lives,” he said.

After all, even though some people say that they like “their cats nice and squishy and fat” there is also the animal to consider:
Fat is not very healthy and can cause all kinds of health problems such as diabetes, lung problems, heart failure, kidney issues, cancer and so much more.
How can that poor fat thing even MOVE up and down the stairs or run about after mice? I don’t suppose that it really can. Do you think that your cat would be happy so fat as this one?
Why do you think that his owners let him or make him so fat? For the fame?
If so, I’d rather have a healthy and happy cat then a fat cat!

A recent break-in at the Susanville animal shelter has caused a big outcry!
3 Vandals broke into a pet animal shelter early Wednesday morning, dirtying the walls with graffiti, damaging equipment and kidnapping six cats.
The Shelter workers have since been worried about the felines’ fate. “We can clean up the mess,” said Animal Cotnrol Supervisor Judge Walesch, “but we worry about the cats, if they are being cared for. I can’t imagine someone who vandalizes an animal shelter actually loving the cats or caring for them. I hope that they are alright and not being ill used.”
So far, one adult cat was recovered during the investigation and Thursday night the two young kittens were recovered at the home of one of the pre-teen girls arrrested in the case.
They are reportedly in good health and being bottle raised at a foster home. Their mother and two other adult cats are still missing.
Sadly, two cats were injured in the rampage. One suffered eye burns from something the vandals threw around the office. The other, an elderly cat, who had been the shelter’s mascot and internet ambassador was badly traumatized by the incident and had to be euthanized.
The damage down to the shelter is estimated to be many thousands of dollars.
The two pre-teen girls responsible for the damage are being held in juvenile hall on burglary and animal cruelty charges.
Along with the girls, a 35 year old woman has also been arrested as she helped them rob the place and destroy it.

How terrible that is! The poor cats and dogs, the poor shelter!
How could ANYONE do such a MEAN thing to such poor little creatures! Destroying a shelter where poor beaten and starving cats and dogs find a refuge, kidnapping six cats and doing I don’t know what to them.

Charles, a cat from new Mexico ran away some eight months ago while in care of a babysitter.
His owner, Alex has been searching for him for MONTHS but without any result. Then one day, Charles somehow turned up 1,300 miles away in Chicago!
The cat had been picked up as a stray by Windy City animal control workers.
Luckily, a tracking microchip had been emebedded in Charles’ shoulder blades which enabled workers to track his owner Alex down and prevent them from putting Charles to sleep.
They called Alex up and told him that they had found his cat.
However, Alex was at that time volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans and was terribly upset as there was nothing he could do about getting Charles.
Then the stunned cat lover enjoyed the further good fortune of having an Albuquerque resident – and fellow cat owner – volunteer to pick up Charles while in Chicago for a wedding.
Lucien Sims, who also owns a tabby, got an Albuquerque company to provide a cat carrier and American Airlines waived Charles’ travel fees.
“He needs a good brushing,” said Cherie Travis, executive director of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
“He’s got a little bit of a cold – a little bit of an upper respiratory infection – but otherwise he’s in great condition.”
3 hours later, both can and owner where united in a loving happy end hug!
Alex still cannot believe his good fortune at having his cat back and I am sure that Charles is ever so happy too to be back with his loving owner after all he has been through!
Let’s hope that he doesn’t run away too soon again and enjoyes a happy, long and healthy life!

I got this little kitty about 2 months back, He was the nicest little kitty now a pain in my crack. This little kitty is ninja always stalking my feet. This little kitty is a warrior you know what I mean. He’s an evil little kitty, look what he did to my hand. Tries to get in trouble in any way that he can. I can give this cat a toy but he’d rather have the wrapper. When I always give him water but he still drinks from the crapper. You could lock him in the closet and he just won’t care. Kitty chews on my shoes and he licks on my hair. Always scratching on my favorite chair and jumping on the couch. Playing in the windowsills and tearing through the house He is so full of energy and easily amused. Kitty will attack anything that moves, Causing trouble, starting battles just so he can be a part of He’s the meanest little kitty so we named him Sparta.

I’ve got him cornered and now he’s mine. He’s not going to get away this time. I’ll snatch him up fast and before he can blink. And then, awww man, he’s a sleep in the sink. What is with this cat? I’m confused. He’s got a bed but its never been used. In every waking moment kitty is up for the fight. Then next minute kitty’s out like a light. How could I let this little creature inside of my home. I got to keep an eye on him when I’m on the phone. I’m a little afraid to leave this cat all alone. This kitty may destroy everything that I own. Look at him now, I kind of feel bad. He’s the best little cat that I’ve had And the one big thing I forgot to mention was that he wasn’t fighting. He just wanted attention.
