Some people don’t want cats in their yard, so they rent cat traps or may try other less humane methods.

I have 1 kitten who is 3 months old and one adult cat who is 5 years old. Since both cats need different kinds of food (kitten food which has nutrients found in a mother’s milk, and adult formula that has nutrients designed for older cats), I have two separate food bowls. One for the kitten and one for the older cat. The older cat steals food from the kittens bowl which is making her overweight, and the younger one is stealing food from the older cat’s food bowl. I’ve tried mixing some kitten food in with the adult food, but that hasn’t worked. I’ve tried putting the bowls in differnt spots in the house which also hasn’t worked. What would you suggest? Thanks.

I have 4 cats and tonight I’m going to get another cat (not kitten) from a friend who can’t keep the cat. Does anyone have good suggestions for getting the cats used to each other quickly? How can I convince my existing cats to get along with the new cat?

Vanessa asked:

I have two cats. One is a year old, the other seems to be two.

I was wondering how much cat food they should get a day. (It is canned cat food)
I understand how the weight thing should work, but until I can find a accurate scale I’ve gotta go by holding-the-cat-and-guessing.
We had dry food, I don’t know if we’ll get it. Besides, I didn’t ask about what wet food causes, I asked about how much they should be getting.

This is a question I’ve been wondering about recently. I’ve noticed that a lot more people are getting more than one cat, and a lot of them say it’s because their cat was lonely and needed a buddy (obviously that shouldn’t be the only reason to get another cat). Personally, I have two cats and neither of them act very independent at all. I’m not sure what i think on this matter, but I was wondering what other people think. Do you think cats are evolving to become less independent?

I have a young cat and I’m moving away. Sadly, my cat can’t come with me and she is going to go live with my mother who already has two older cats, one is very skittish and the other is very bossy. We don’t want anyone running away because they think their territory has been invaded or there’s no place for them. How can I introduce the new cat to the other two without upsetting any of them too much?

cohrsman asked:

I have fleas in my house and on my cats. I went to the vet and got the advantage drops for the cats. I have also sprayed my house, used a flea fogger, and have been vacuuming everything and cleaning the crap outta my house. Since both cats and the house have been treated should I continue to keep my cats quarantined in the bathroom or should I let them out. I’m thinking it’s probably ok to let them out now since the pesticide has had time to settle. Also, I think the advantage stuff on the cats is supposed to kill any fleas that jump on. I’m thinking it’s a good idea to let the cats run around so the remaining fleas that continue to hatch will jump on the cats and die. Advise?

Especially cats, since they are so tiny. It is hard to believe that their fur does much when the weather is so snowy and freezing cold. My young cat will stay outside for hours at a time. Which brings me to another question, is there a way I can get my cat to be more of an indoor cat? It always wants to go outside unless it is hungry.

4 months ago I adopted 2 cats from the local animal rescue and the cat that has lived here for about 4 years has still not adjusted to these 2 new cats or the 2 addtional ones I adopted 2 months ago. The first cat took refuge downstairs in my rec-room on the coach and will only leave that spot to eat and use the litter box(usually) sometimes I find pee/poop on the coach. I have tried everything from keeping them separated to keeping them in the same room. When any of the 4 new cats(2 are still kittens) go near her she just screams bloody murder. Will she ever adjust or should I consider something else?

Okay, I have a cat, and my boyfriend has one. In the future we plan on moving into an apartment together, instead of me moving into his house or him moving into mine. So we have a unique cat situation. We won’t be introducing cats to a house that already has cats. So not only will we have the trauma of a new house, but throw in a new cat as well. Neither of them will have the “home field” advantage. How difficult will this be?

One of the neighborhood cats had a kitten. We have been feeding it and playing with it and it has gotten very used to us. It is about 7 months old. We are thinking of moving and taking the cat but are afraid it will run away or not be happy. It would have to stay an outside cat where we move. Our neighbor is also moving and said they would take it (as well as about 4 other neighborhood cats) and make it an indoor cat. The mother would go too. What is better for the cat?

I have two cats. One cat likes to pull out the foam from the air conditioner and chew it up. The other cat likes to jump on furniture and counter tops. What can I do to keep these cats from doing this?

I have two indoor cats, and although they seem perfectly happy in my three-bedroom house, I was wondering about how it compares to the space they’d have to roam in if they were allowed outside and whether they’d be significantly more active there than inside.

Me asked:

We have two cats and we live on three acres out in the country, so they are indoor/outdoor cats. The problem is that around our house are gravel walkways and a gravel driveway and the cats have decided to use these areas to pee and poop. Every time we go outside we smell it, and it’s especially strong in the area where our patio table is (so who wants to sit and eat there???). Is there any kind of safe cat deterrent that we can spray there that will actually work?
