  2. I came across your site while looking to see if my cat will have any problems after eating a good portion of a chicken leg that was inadvertently left out. From reading a bit here I feel better, however, I do notice he is kind of sluggish, and not his usual ravenous self. I’m sure he will be fine, he just needs to sleep it off.

Any thoughts on sluggish chicken leg eating cat syndrome?

    thanx

  3. Your website is amazing!
I was sitting on the laptop when my mother asked if kittens were allowed to eat meat, and sure enough, this website answered ALL of my mothers questions and queries!
    Great job!

  4. This was a very pleasant read. However, there are no scientific sources to back up the article, and it ends with product placement.

I trust your statements are true, but I won’t go telling my mom it is fact.

  5. It’s so refreshing to hear somebody talking sense about what a cat should eat. So may websites say how unhealthy it is for cats to eat raw meat and that they should eat proper ‘cat food’ because it’s what is made for them. Oh yeah, because when was the last time you saw a cat in the wild eating out of a can??! Cat food cans don’t grow on trees…

The reason I started on this in the first place was because I am vegetarian. Of course, I would NEVER make my cat vegetarian, anybody who says it is ok for cats to stop eating meat should be banned from having a pet that is designed to be a carnivore. I wanted my cat to eat what she should eat, but free range to suit me but I couldn’t find anything so just decided to have a go at a homemade diet*, although I haven’t fully started yet.

Thanks for putting my worries to rest!
*not forgetting to get all the necessary supplements before making it her full diet.

  6. I believe in a holistic eating diet so my kitten, since a month old, has been eating raw and cooked food. Besides cat food in biscuits and can, I feed him with raw shrimps, pig liver, chicken liver, chicken meat and beef, he loves them to bits. I see these food as treats for my kitten and feed him such a diet only during weekends. I will then monitor his poo to ensure he is fine. What I observed is that his poo has more moisture and comes in “strings” rather than the round “balls”. This means the raw food provides more moisture as compared to a cat food diet. However be prepared for a bloody scene but he will, of course, wipe his mouth after he finishes. I am not sure if that adds to the fact that my kitten is a sprinter and very active. He is now seven to eight months old, very healthy.

  7. Cats have existed independent of kitty kibble manufacturers for a LONG time…why is it such an alien concept that cats can’t eat raw meat? My cat behaves so much better when I feed him a diet of raw animal flesh… and the horrible kitty farts are non-existent. Traditionally farts are considered a sign of poor digestion.
